The short answer: walk in when your time is flexible and you just need a clean-up — weekday mornings and early afternoons are usually quick. Book ahead when the haircut has to happen at a specific time, when it is a Saturday, or when you want a longer service like a haircut plus beard. We take both, every day except Monday.
When walking in is the better move
- Weekday mornings. We open at 10:00 AM Tuesday through Sunday and the first couple of hours on a weekday are the calmest of the week.
- Mid afternoon on a weekday. After the lunch rush and before school and work let out.
- Short services. A beard trim is about fifteen minutes at $20. That fits into almost any gap in the day.
- You are nearby anyway. Plenty of clients from Chicago Ridge, Worth and Evergreen Park stop in on the way past on Central Ave.
Walking in also means you get whichever barber is free, which is a genuine advantage if you are not attached to one chair.
When to book instead
- Saturdays. Busiest day of the week everywhere, us included.
- Late afternoon and evening. From about 4:00 PM to close at 8:00 PM is the after-work window.
- Before an event. A wedding, a job interview, school photos, a flight. Do not leave those to chance.
- Longer services. Haircut plus beard runs about 45 minutes at $40.
- Two or three people together. A dad and two kids need three chairs at once, which is much easier when it is on the books.
- First haircut for a small child. Timing matters more than anything else — see your kid's first haircut.

Our week, honestly
Monday we are closed. Tuesday through Saturday we are open 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Sunday is 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Tuesday and Wednesday tend to be the quietest days. Thursday and Friday build through the afternoon. Saturday is busy from open. Sunday is steady but shorter, so the last hour fills up.
The reliable trick either way: call before you leave. Thirty seconds on the phone tells you exactly what the wait is right now, and we would rather tell you than have you sit for half an hour.
How to cut your wait
- Call ahead. It is the whole answer.
- Come earlier in the day rather than later.
- Avoid the first Saturday after a holiday.

Does booking get you a better haircut?
No. Same barbers, same work, same prices — $30 men's, $25 kids, $20 beard. The only thing an appointment buys you is certainty about the clock. Some of our longest-standing regulars have never booked once, and others book every three weeks like clockwork. Both are fine by us.
